Our Extra Heavy Duty Pressed Steel Castors have individual load capacities of over 500kg. It's important to notice the castor's load capacity rather than whether it has been classed as light, medium or heavy duty. I saw someone selling a castor with a load rating of 75kg described as heavy duty. They're not wrong, it's just what they thin...k heavy duty is and that's relative to the castor range they sell. We have castors with load ratings from 27kg to over 6000kg in stock, so to us, 75kg is well towards the light duty end.

This is why we've moved to using load capacity ranges to describe our Extra Heavy Duty Pressed Steel Castors.

If you need to carry a total load (including the transport equipment) over 4 castors of 1500kg or more, these are the castors for you. You can read more about Recommended Load Capacity Considerations here.

Your next criteria is likely to be how you’re going to attach the castors and because of the weight involved there is only one choice: A rectangular Plate Fixing but there are different bolt hole centres available.

Next comes the Castor Wheels. We have a complete range including Nylon,  Polyurethane, and Cast Iron.

Some users have specific bearing requirements too. A Smooth Plain Bore is simply a smooth hole in the middle of the wheel and the lowest cost option. This is great if you're not carrying too much weight when your equipment needs to move. Roller Bearing and Ball Bearings are available and these are necessary to lower the rolling resistance. These castors are great for a wide variety of material handling and transport equipment moving very heavy items or goods. They can be purchased as replacement castors or as a new component to transform stationary equipment into a mobile unit.
