Pneumatic Wheels
Pneumatic Wheels are rubber tyres that are inflated with air. They are used in either a castor frame or mobile handling equipment such as garden trolleys, carts, sack trucks and other transport equipment. Being a very soft tyre they exceptionally kind on floors and provide great operator comfort.Pneumatic castor wheel have... a bit of give to the tire which lowers the rolling resistance on uneven surfaces. Therefore, they protect the transportation unit from much of the impact loads from bad floors.
For maximum life of a pneumatic wheel it is important that the tyre pressure in kept at the recommended level. Furthermore, the maximum safe working load which is given as the "load capacity" in our specifications and often found on the side of the tyre are based on speeds of no more than 4km/h. Higher speeds will reduce the load capacity of the wheel.
Pneumatic trolley wheels are susceptible to punctures. If this is a problem, the solution may be to use a puncture-proof wheel which has a similar appearance to a pneumatic rubber tyre but is actually made from high quality micro-cellular Polyurethane.
