This castor has directional lock slots in the swivel head to enable the attachment of a retro fit directional lock (HKDL). The overall height of this castor is 283mm. The Wheel has a Polyurethane Tyre (92 Shore A) on a Cast Iron Centre Wheel with Ball Bearings. The polyurethane tyre is abrasion resistant with a low rolling resistance. The elasticity of the polyurethane allows the wheel absorb some of the rolling vibrations. This provides the user with a smoother and quieter operation yet is gentler on concrete floors compared to hard treads such as Cast Iron. -

This wheel suits either 16mm (5/8") or 19mm (3/4") axles and is sold with spacers to vary the hub wheel's hub length (the distance through the central bore). With a 180kg load capacity it is suitable for heavy duty applications. This flat-free universal replacement wheelbarrow wheel has a rib tread and a 75mm Tread Width. It has a special foam filled tyre that has the same cushioning and bounce as a typical pneumatic wheel. As the name suggests, it has the added benefit of not being susceptible to punctures from nails and other sharp objects.Changing the bore size:
The hub of this wheel arrives to you fitted with a 16mm (5/8" bearing). This can be removed and replaced with 19mm (3/4" bushes) wheel bushes if needed. The 19mm bushings are included in the kit. To change the bore size simply remove the existing bearings by gently prising both out with a screwdriver and hammer. To prevent damaging the new bushings when knocking them in gently with a hammer, it is recommended that a piece of wood is placed over the bearing:
The wheel has a 75mm hub (the distance through the central bore). This can be extended to suit your wheelbarrow by the use of the spacers supplied (see image below for details):
When replacing your wheelbarrow's front wheel, it is advised that you remove the wheel from the wheelbarrow and check the shaft size and the hub length (the distance through the central bore) before purchasing.
