As a high performance wheel it is often used in much more demanding applications than a standard polyurethane tyre castor wheel. As with all polyurethane tyred wheels, demanding applications involving extended periods of use or speeds greater 4 km/h the friction will generate heat build up in the polyurethane. REVVOTHANE is a high quality polyurethane that offers minimal heat build up and performs exceptionally well within the following guidelines:
- If the wheel be in continual use for more than 45 minutes, this reduces the load capacity by 25%.
- The load capacity is reduced by a further 30% if used as Drive Wheel
- Reduce load by further 20% if the running speed is between 6 km/h and 10 km/h
- Reduce the load by a further 30% if the running speed is between 10 km/h and 16 km/h

The Polyurethane tyre offers a low tractive resistance making it easier to get moving compared with softer rubber tread wheels. It is also a bit softer than hard tread wheels making it smoother and quieter running.
